Lead Free Brass
Lead free brass possess relatively good corrosion resistance, moderately high strength, and in some forms, it has very good ductility. Its hot forms are strong. Also known as Muntz metal was commonly used as an affordable alternative for the copper sheeting formerly placed on boat hulls to avoid the formation of marine organisms like barnacles on the hulls. It is available mainly in 60/40 and 63/37 Cu/Zn ratio.
